Image 1.
I think that the mood of this image is sad. I think that the one of the main reasons why the mood is sad is because it is in black and white. Most pictures i have seen that are in black and white usually are not very happy i think because black and white int usually an inviting image. I also think that it is sad because she is really the only thing in the image and her facial expression just says lonely itself. I think the story that is being told here is that she that she is lost or that she lost someone. In a way it looks like she is looking for someone or something. When i look at this i also feel depressed because the girl is all alone with no one or anything around her. She is just by herself and looks lonely. She is placed in the middle of the frame for the most part and everything is in focus. This photo has "line" to it because of the railing that is in the foreground and the middle ground. The shutter speed was set lower because it is all in focus.
Image 2.
This photo is in low depth of field because the background is blurry but the lady with the baby is in focus. I think that helps convey the mood if the image which is "worried" because it puts all the attention on them, like something is wrong with one of them, or both. Maybe the baby has something wrong with him/her and is sick and if that is his or hers grandma and she is worried about the baby. I think the story that is being told here is that maybe these two don't come from a very wealthy family and they are worried that if the baby is sick they may or may not have enough money for the medicine or something to help the baby. The lady also looks very tired which may mean that she has to take care of the baby a lot. This photo makes me feel like lonely and desolate because it is just those two in an open field with nothing around them except dirt and dead bushes.
Image 3.
This photo was shot from a higher perspective than where the people are, i think that, that means the photographer has power over these people or is more wealthy than them. I think that because this looks like a city that doesn't have the most wealthy people in it and kind of "ghetto" in a way. This photo has a lot of depth to it because you can see all the way down the street. it also has movement because with all of the buildings and street lights in a row right after one another form an imaginary line. The lines lead to one place giving it depth and movement.
Image 4.
the lady in this photo seems to be confused. Her smile says that she is happy but her eyes tell a different story like she is not sure what to think or how to feel. This photo was shot in low depth of field because the background is blurry and she is the only thing in focus. That is done by making the shutter speed high and adjusting the focus so its only on her. When i look at this picture i feel confused because i am not sure what she is thinking or feeling. The angle from where this picture is shot makes you feel like you are having a face to face conversation with this lady because you are so up close in her face. It also kind of puts you in her shoes because you are trying to figure out what she is thinking at the moment.
Image 5.
This photo was shot with a really slow shutter speed, it is because that is the same person looking at the person laying down that appears to be dead. I think that this is him looking over his life in review and thinking about all that happened. This photo makes me try to put myself in his position and try to imagine what he is thinking. He looks mad because he is just staring with a blank stare on his face, almost like he has no emotion and just doesn't care at all. This photo has balance because there is people in both sides of the picture.
